Adapting MD 35-70 f3.5 Macro zoom
Classic zoom becomes compatible with all EOS cameras.
Image above shows the adapted Minolta MD 35-70 f3.5 Macro zoom together with a Canon EOS camera.
Four modifications are needed to the lens mount in order to make the products work together. The outer ring needs to be machined and shortened about 0.3 mm for infinity focus. The shortened outer ring then meets with Canon EOS camera bayonet whereas the dark inner ring meets with original Minolta camera. The inner ring remains in tact. Brass colored lens mount part has also been shortened 0.3 mm to maintain gap inside EOS mirror box. The iris pin requires half a millimeter shortening and locking pin holes need to be machined for APS-C and full frame Canon cameras.
What is also needed is custom built MD-EOS adapter ring that is turned on the lens and secured with a screw. The adapter ring completes the adaptation and the lens will work with any Canon EOS camera in manual focusing and metering mode.
Adapted MD 35-70 zoom lenses are compatible with all Canon EOS cameras including full frame 5D/6D and EF-M. Lens remains compatible with original Minolta cameras.
