Best from previous seasons (summer 2016)
Carl Zeiss Jena MC Flektogon 35 f2.4.
Image above was taken in July, 2016, while testing Carl Zeiss Flektogon 35 f2.4 lens made in East Germany. Color negative film was developed and scanned with Pakon F-135 scanner by a specialist shop in Ireland.
Flektogon is a popular legacy lens with a good reputation and is a higher value item on the used market. The lens does not quite deliver, though. Image can be sharp but only when stopped down to f8, which limits photo opportunities. Colors are authentic film colors. Had the scene above been captured with a Rokkor or some other lens, it might look different.
The photographer in the image was better geared for action with a modern Nikon or Canon digital camera and AF telephoto lens. He was still interested in the old style photography with a Minolta X-7 film body and manual focus lens from East Germany.
